Each session has a very specific focus and desired treatment outcome.We will be re-building your innate sleep drive and re-align your body’s natural circadian rhythms, You will be actively engaged in learning and practicing new sleep-promoting skills, sleep habits, behaviors, ways of thinking to break the cycle of poor sleep.
Although CBT-I does not involve medication, its interventions can be used if you are taking sleep medication.
Many people decide to start treatment as a way to learn strategies to complement their current sleep medication.
If you decide, however to stop your medication during the course of treatment, I will work with you and your prescribing physician to help you taper down your dosage.
Many of my clients are referred from or working with a Psychotherapist. I work in an adjunctive collaborative manner.
The form of Sleep Therapy I provide compliments the treatment you are receiving from your psychotherapist.
I will not duplicate services.
